We were contacted with post card by a company called Del Ray Travel indicating that we were chosen to be given a "complimentary 4 night cruise" to our choice of Ensenada, W. Caribbean, or Baja, Mexico. Upon calling the 888 number (Later found out that company is called Perfect Marketing) we found out that our obligation was to attend a presentation inviting us to purchase a travel club membership. We went to a presentation on August 20th and we decided to not purchase a $4000-$10000 travel club so they gave us 3 papers 2 of which required our signature. The first paper they asked us to sign was one that indicated the people treated us well. The second paper was one that we would not hold Del Ray Travel responsible for any misrepresentation of the free travel offer given to us by them. Then they gave us a "Carnival Activation Form" with a lot of fine print. On the form they said in order to receive the cruise the following things need to occur:
1. We need return the Activation Form with $50 deposit to VIP Travel Reservations within 21 days of the issue date.
2. They send us a Reservation Form.
3. We return the Reservation Form at least 60 days prior to taking our cruise.
4. We must make the cruise within 1 year of issue date.
5. We take the cruise during the low season (Sep. - Dec.) and not close to a holiday.
If all these rules are followed that leaves about 2 weeks in which the cruise can be taken. I suspect those weeks are already booked up.
