DON'T USE THIS COMPANY
Pick Up
1)Communication was bad
2)They do not keep their schedules:
My move was set in April for August 15th or 16th. I called Weststar Relocation on Thursday, August 5th to confirm the move because I had not heard anything from them since mid July. On August 6th, I heard back from them. They said that because a truck had broken down, they were going to be picking up my stuff a WEEK EARLY on Monday the 9th. I was not prepared and protested telling them that I had taken work off on Friday the 13th to pack and that I had a visitor staying with me for the weekend. They did compromise and said they would be there on Wednesday the 11th instead. So I called my job to tell them I could work on Thursday and Friday of the next week. After my friend left, I worked during the days and packed through the nights. Tuesday evening they called me to tell me they wouldn't be here until thursday morning. It was nice to have the extra packing time. But as it turned out, they did not arrive until Thursday around 8pm. My job had started at 5pm. So I had to skip work to be there for the movers.
3) Inaccurate Information: When I was giving my inventory, I was asked how many small items/duffle bags do you have. I had told them. When the movers arrive, they refused to accept small boxes and duffle bags. Instead they charged me for 4 large boxes and for the packing of the small boxes and duffle bags into the large boxes. (About $150). After having stayed up through night for several nights in a row packing, it was infuriating to have to pay for it to be done a second time.
4)The movers were not fluent in English
5) certain fees were not mentioned until pick up.
6) due to the early pick up, I lived 2+ weeks without any of my stuff.
So pick up was completed.
Drop off:
1)They told me the truck could not get up the road (though I have seen other trucks do so) and that it would be a $300 fee for a shuttle. (which I knew) I said I would get a Uhaul and do it myself. I asked them to meet me at the strip mall parking lot about a mile from where I live. They told me the truck would not fit there and I would just have to come to the place where the next person stuff was to be dropped off about 11 miles away. I rented a Uhaul and drove in Boston for the first time. They loaded the uhaul and threw stuff, breaking a chair.
2)Stuff was broken:
Upon unpacking, I found that many things were broken (stuff the moving company had packed or rather crammed into boxes). Additionally, several small things were missing (like a wheel to a chair, etc).
Good things: My stuff was delivered on time. Initial communication was prompt.
