I own a refurbished FreeAgent desk-top external hard drive. I have a refurbished one as an exchange for the new one I purchased. It kicked out Error Message 8211 which, last year, their web-site did not acknowledge.
Earlier this year it started happening again, and I contacted the co rather than pay $20 for an 'expedited shipment' of yet another refurbished unit. After speaking to three people I was finally able to speak to someone who actually knew what the error message means (can't save system files or large quantities of windows-compressed files). Now that I've changed the settings so it doesn't attempt to back up those files it is fine.
The resolution was good- it would have been great if it had happened with the first or second person... not the fourth!
