Mover please be advised
|
Please be advised to do your homework on Progressive Relocation Systems. They are very good on the phone and will convince you that they are a standup company by taking you to the DOT and BBB websites and showing you many good reviews. However, my experience was that none of this was true. In the end it was a terrible experience. I was told that they were not a moving broker, that they had their own workers and trucks and that would be who would be picking me up. I was told that I had a binding contract for a set amount of sqft for a set price. I was told that the movers would arrive in a certain 3 hr window. None of these things were honored. The movers called 10 minutes after the end of the 3 hr window to state that they would be arriving in 3 more hrs. The movers that arrived did not work for Progressive Relocation Systems and stated that they had just received the contract from Progressive that morning (the morning of the move) and that Progressive was in fact a broker. The movers stated that they worked for Platinum Van Lines (a company with many bad reviews). Then the movers that had arrived came inside the house, looked around and stated that they would have to come up with a revised estimate which was almost double the binding contract. They said this was because we had more "stuff" than was on the contract. When I told them that I only wanted the items in the contract inventory to be moved as had already been agreed upon, they said they would not do so. During the course of this I tried to contact Progressive repeatedly with no reply. We decided we did not feel comfortable with the movers that had arrived, and could not afford the new doubled price and so asked the movers to leave. 15 minutes later I received a call from Progressive asking what had happened. When I told them that the binding contract had not been honored they stated it was because there were items in the house that weren't on the inventory. When I told them that I only wanted the items on the inventory moved, only the items on the binding contract, they had nothing to say. I asked for a refund of my deposit and have not heard from them again despite many attempts on my part to contact them. Mover Beware. Please go with someone else and learn from my mistake.
