Review 9/8/2009
|
I was contacted 04/15/09 by "Andrew Reed" about selling my Kauai timeshare. He stated that Premier Timeshares had a cash buyer that was ready to close. All I needed to do was pay them a listing fee of $2238 and the whole process would be concluded in 45-60 days. Note that this was April 09.
I fell for it and charged the listing fee to AMEX and then received a FedEx envelope with documents to sign. Received them, signed them and returned them.
There was no communications from them until I attempted to call 07/10/09. i was told that they were waiting on documents from the buyer and those documents were due back to Premier Timeshares office 07/16/09. I call on 07/16/09 to confirm those documents and was told to call back on 07/28/09. Called back on 07/28/09 and got a FULL voicemail box.
I called again on 08/14/09 and after someone finally answered, I was put on hold for 5 minutes. When the human finally got back on the phone, I was told the documents were out for financial review and due back on 08/26/09. If this was a CASH transaction, what financial review was required?
I called back today and was told that they have a new phone system and all voice mails from the past week were lost in the changeover. I explained to them that this whole transaction is nothing more than a MADOFF style Ponzi scheme and I had taken measures with AMEX to report this transaction as suspicious.
Contacting AMEX today, the Premier Timeshare charges have been reversed.
