Lesson learned: check BBB and other online sites first.
They gyped me. PLENTY. $500 to pull up toilet, replace wax ring, replace flex hose I had installed 2 years ago brand new. TRIED to sell me a $600 new toilet. TRIED to sell me a $99/year service contract (do they think I'm going to need a plumber that often?!) Made me sign a lien that states that even if I pay them in full, one of their subcontractors or suppliers might sue me with a "Mechanic's Lien."
Of course, their work didn't solve the problem: toilet that smells like sewer.
I had suggested blocked toilet vent on roof. They brushed me off. What does a woman know? Oh, he also offended me by asking for my parents' number to call them for permission before doing the work. I'm 39.
Guess what? Toilet, sink, and shower don't drain properly or don't have constant pressure. There's a funny groaning sound when I use the shower. When I use all three, the vent on the roof goes-thump-thump-thump.
THINK IT COULD BE THE ROOF VENT, LIKE I SAID?
So now I'm out $500 and get to start over.
