Big Bear Getaway Management doesn't deserve your business!
|
We stayed for a weekend at one of their properties and the home was very clean and fit for the most part the listed description. However the rental company clearly mismanaged the cabin #59 Big Tehama. We had a snow storm and they assured us they would plow that night. The storm started at 2 in the afternoon on Saturday and they did not show up until 10:00 on Sunday. We had to call repeatedly as our vehicles were completely snowed in. Finally a man showed up with a shovel. No plow, and three feet of snow. You are not allowed to park on the street so there was no safe place that we could move the cars to. Their employee asked me to start the car so that I could warm it up. When I was in the home I heard a loud noise and my daughter screamed that the man was driving my Van into the home. Apparently he decided to move the Van on his own without speaking to me and got stuck in a precarious position almost hitting the trees. The van at that point could not be moved safely and thank goodness the neighbors came and towed us out. Their workman then got into a verbal altercation with the kind neighbor which was embarrassing to say the least. He did apologize but the whole situation was a nightmare. My cell phone that was in the car then went missing. It was still snowing terribly and we wanted to search the whole car and empty everything out in hopes that the phone would show up. When we reported this to the Company a person identified themselves as the Manager and said we don't hire thieves, don't call or write us and hung up. It was a horrible situation being snowed in to a home without a professional snow plow as was promised by the management. It was even worse to lose our iphone with all our family photos from the weekend and to receive such a response. Big Bear was lovely but use a hotel or another rental service as there are so many to choose from.
