I am very concerned about a company called Home Care Alliance Group. They have called me and emailed an application for a loan modification, but I am very weary of it. Sounds too good to be true. Does anyone have any information of this company?

Barbara, you’re right to be skeptical about the company. First, the BBB has one complaint alleging that the company debited their checking account without authorization. The bigger problem is the fact that they seem to be charging in advance for doing loan modifications when that practice is illegal in California.

We got scammed by them do not trust them. They collected $2000.00 and did nothing. Wont return phone calls or emails. I have reported them to the BBB and to the Attorney Generals Office.

first can you make your mortgage payment? if not, then a modification most likely won't work. since they just add the past due to the front of the loan. you may be better off cutting your losses and moving to a cheaper home. 80% of loan modifications don't work.
